Right Size Smoothies are a part of the Right Size diet which promotes weight loss using their own unique brand of fast food smoothies and nutritional supplements. Right Size Smoothies contends the main ingredient that promotes weight loss is appemine, a mixture derived from green tea, galangal and cinnamon twig.
I have been indoctrinated by trainers, nutritionists, and doctors that meal replacements are not a good way to lose weight. I do, however, use high protein, low fat and low sugar supplements at times to fuel extensive workouts. So, I thought I would see what Right Size Smoothies were all about. Perhaps they could serve as a nutritional supplement or the occasional (very occasional) meal on the run without adding weight.
What I Learned about Right Size Smoothies and the Right Size Diet
Honest compels me to say that I was not very impressed with what I found about Right Size Smoothies. They are no better than any diet meal replacement, such as Slimfast, which you can buy conveniently at your grocer.
Right Size Smoothies must be ordered online through their official website. If you are going to use a meal replacement to try to lose weight, which is a bad idea, there is no need to order a more expensive meal replacement Right Size Smoothie for twice the price of meal replacements on the shelf at your local grocer.
How Right Size Smoothies and Right Size Diet "Works"
In addition to appemine, which is purported to increase weight loss the whole idea behind Right Size Smoothies is to decrease calorie intake by replacing a meal with a shake. As I said before, that's a bad idea.
• Your body will better absorb vital vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from real food than from supplements.
• Once you come off the Right Size Smoothies Diet, you will regain weight if you have not learned to eat properly and exercise portion control.
• The only appetite suppressant in Right Size Smoothies is Chromium. Chromium is believed to increase metabolism and decrease appetite. I would highly recommend that if you want to use Chromium in your weight loss plan that you purchase a bottle at your local pharmacy or GNC. It is less expensive than Right Size Smoothies and likely more effective.
• There are only 3 grams of fiber in one serving of a Right Size Smoothie. This is not enough fiber for your daily needs, nor will it suffice to help control your appetite. You'd be better off taking Fiber Choice to help with appetite and portion control. You will never lose weight as long as you are hungry and there doesn't appear to be much appetite control in Right Size Smoothies.
About the Weight Loss Ingredient Appemine
Right Size Smoothies and the Right Size diet and supplements have nothing special to offer, including appemine. In fact, studies cited by Right Size Smoothies are older and more out-dated than more recent studies involving the anti-oxidant and possible weight loss properties of green tea.
As with many weight loss products, there is no hard scientific evidence that appemine in Right Size Smoothies in any way contributes to weight loss. Further, there is little to no anecdotal evidence that the ingredient works or, in fact, that the Right Size Smoothie Diet works.
Meeting Your Nutritional Needs with Right Size Smoothies
Right Size Smoothies pride themselves in offering B vitamin supplements. This is no big deal. If you are eating a healthy diet, you may not need to supplement your B vitamins. B vitamins are great for providing energy. If you feel you need B vitamins buy a bottle at the grocer or pharmacy.
If you are an ardent athlete and need nutritional supplementation, Right Size Smoothies shouldn't even be on your list of considerations. They simply do not provide enough protein or fiber to meet your needs. Additionally, Right Size Smoothies does little to encourage healthy exercise in addition with meal replacement for weight loss. It's probably a good thing they don't, because Right Size Smoothies, at 100 calories per serving, cut your calories so dramatically that your basal metabolism can barely function.
Is Right Size Smoothies Right for Your Weight Loss?
Undoubtedly, there will be hordes of people, desperate to lose weight that will purchase Right Size Smoothies and buy into the Right Size diet.
Personally, I think Right Size Smoothies are a joke among products that potentially promote weight loss. Consult your doctor if you need a significant appetite suppressant beyond drinking a glass of water before your meals. Then, eat your meals. A healthy diet and exercise are the only way to lose weight and keep it off.
Don't fall victim to the Right Size Smoothie Diet.
